If you’ve ever felt guilty for changing, this piece is for you. So many women hold themselves back out of fear of being called fake, inconsistent, or “too much.” But real growth doesn’t always look pretty, sometimes it looks like walking away, getting quiet, or starting over. This article is a reminder that reinvention isn’t a weakness. It’s a power move. Read this when you need permission to evolve without apologizing for it.

I dont remember much from the worst of it. I remember the sickness. I remember the body aches. I remember the tremors. I remember waking up and starting a fight with my husband. Id beg him and try to bribe him because I wanted a drink at 8 a.m so I didn't loose last nights dinner, if I even ate. That man dealt with more burden those days than anyone should ever have to. All because he beleived in a heald me Hell I used any excuse back then. Im sick, im sad, I need it. I have bi polar, I was traumatized as a small child and i was using the bottle to mask it and not very cleverly or with any grace. Then one day the bill came due. My arrest came......

The summer of 1988 began with a simple goodbye. I packed a few bags, said farewell to the familiar, and headed to an apartment where I’d spend the next 2.5 weeks. It wasn’t a long time, but it was enough to fill with moments that still stick in my memory.

There are encounters that defy explanation, moments when the unseen world draws undeniably near. For me, this threshold is often marked by the Limenitis arthemis, a creature of living sapphire and midnight velvet. Its sudden arrival isn't happenstance; it's a deliberate unfolding, its wings tracing an ethereal ballet around me, a presence so knowing it feels like a silent communion. This recurring visit is a profound, personal mystery. As its delicate form settles near, its gaze seems to hold a whispered understanding, connecting realms. In those suspended moments, where the seen meets the unseen, a vivid testament to life's exquisite beauty appears, reminding me to cherish every breath, to embrace every given grace. This is where a thread of connection, woven by the deepest spirit, reveals a timeless ritual.

The Unanswerable Question For as long as humans have pondered existence, the question of what happens after death has lingered. Religions across cultures offer frameworks—heaven, hell, reincarnation, or spiritual union with a higher power—each rooted in faith and tradition. Stories of near-death experiences or claims of past-life memories add layers of intrigue, but none provide concrete proof. At the end of the day, no one who has crossed the threshold between life and death has returned to share a definitive account.

DEAR ASK A PUNK - I'm turning 39 this year (much later this year) and my mid-life crisis has arrived. It seems like I was 27 and now I'm a middle-aged man and I don't know what happened in between. I haven't gotten fat, but my hair is falling out. I still listen to punk rock, but I started feeling stupid riding my skateboard in public around the time I turned 32. l still go to shows, but it seems like all the bands suck now compared to what I remember and I want to tell the 20 year-olds that they're getting ripped off, that maybe punk really IS dead that it was co-opted just when we need it most - The country is even more deluded and down the shittier than it was back in the early 80's. ...but I'm just too tired

DEAR ASK A PUNK - I'm a guy and I'm 30 years old and I still live with my parents. It's not as pathetic as it sounds. Where I live (in the semi-deep South) it is expensive to live on your own and even with some college it's tough to find a job that's more like a career and pays well. So I DO work full-time, but at $10/hour with no benefits, you can't exactly LIVE. And I like my family. My folks are still married and since my sisters and brother have moved out, they have more than enough room, in fact they like having me around. It's not a bad lifestyle really. Ok, I don't pay actual "rent", but the house is paid off anyway, and I do contribute, buy groceries, do my own laundry, pay for my own cellphone. I'm saying all this so I don't sound like a loser, but now that I'm 30, ok almost 32, I'm starting to feel like one anyway, but I just don't see any way out...

In this raw and honest first entry of *The Hustle Journal*, the writer reflects on a late start, inner battles, and the quiet decision to keep showing up—even when motivation is missing. It’s a reminder that progress isn’t always loud, and sometimes, choosing not to quit is the biggest win of the day.
